Spring 2002 Calendar of Special Events
Every Tuesday, April 16th- June 11th:  After-School EcoClub- 3:30 PM- 5:00 PM. Looking for something fun to do after school? Check out this free club for kids in 6th-8th grades. We’ll explore the forest, field and creek, discover cool plants and animals and learn how to take care of our park. No registration required- just show up!
Every Monday, April 29th- July 29th:  Fun, Fit & Free! See What You Can Be- 6 PM- 8 PM. Block captains and community leaders are invited to this health promotion and education opportunity. This is a free 14-week program that will give you the tools you need to improve your health and fitness.  For more information or to register, call 215-686-2128.
Cobbs Creek Restoration Volunteers:  Do you want to help improve your park? Join us every third Saturday of the month from 10 AM - 1 PM. We’ll rebuild trails, plant trees, clean up trash and remove invasive vines. Help make Cobbs Creek Park a better place for the people, plants and animals who depend on it. Individuals, families and groups may attend. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Come prepared to get dirty! For more information about restoration and volunteering, call us at 215-685-1900.

Mayor's Health and Fitness Hikes in Fairmount Park - Spring 2002 Hikes

 

Join Fairmount Park staff or volunteers as we hike along woodland streams, pass by some of the country’s oldest historic homes, or catch a view of the city skyline from a commanding hillside.

 Open House:  Tour our new building and meet the CCCEEC, Inc., Fairmount Park and PA Conservation Corps staff and the CCCEEC, Inc. board members who have made this center a reality!
Sat. June 15

10am - 1pm

 Cobbs Creek Restoration Volunteers:  Dads and their kids are especially invited to join us today, the day before Father’s Day.
Sun. June 23

9am - Noon

 Summer Fitness Hike:  Get your summer started right!  This moderate 3 mile hike along the creek will get you ready for a summer of activity and exploration!
